The Monte Olmi is one of these wines. From the terraces exposed to the sun, we obtain the grapes of the precious Amarone Capitel Monte Olmi.
Since 1964 this wine, which is recognizable for its timeless style and elegance, has projected the territory into the modern age of valuation of Cru wines at a time in which it was not even spoken of in Italy.
The Land
The land is of morainic origin and limestone marl in nature. The content of calcium and clay is present in equal measure, favoring a robust structure and good color intensity.
The very low vigor of the vines favors the production of highly concentrated wines endowed with great character. The sandy mineral fraction of the calcarenites gives notes of cherry, red currant, and raspberry.
The vineyard is grown on dry wall terraces. The steep slope ensures adequate water drainage in case of excessive rainfall, while the depth and structure of primarily clay terrain allow for water to be retained during drought.
