The Family story

In search of a wine capable of evoking emotion.

Tedeschi boasts a deep bond with the Valpolicella territory that has kept it on the path of always seeking quality in their terroir wines produced exclusively from grapes grown on hillsides. Since 1630, our family has believed in the extraordinary potential of local wine production, enhancing its value in a modern key with innovative production and environmental management methods with the end result being the creation of a wine that is able to evoke emotion and render homage to its magnificent land of origin.

The impetus for the modern history of the winery arrived in the 60’s thanks to Lorenzo Tedeschi. He was the first to intuit the diverse potential of the grapes grown in the Monte Olmi vineyard, acquired by the family in 1918, and then decide to vinify each of the grapes separately. The result was the birth of the first wine to symbolize Tedeschi, the Amarone Capitel Monte Olmi, which became the emblematic wine of the winery and the region.

For the Tedeschi family, listening constantly to the demands, proclivities, and rhythms of the land is essential in order to best interpret every single harvest, so that even the season with its own peculiarities becomes an integral part of the wine produced. We have always put our faith in hillside vineyards, where the poorest soil is able to give rise to wine with greater complexity and structure. The land is our main point of reference, and a resource that must be looked after, tended to, respected, and interpreted.
